Who we are
Scratchbox is a macOS menu-bar inbox for screenshots and throwaway files. The public site is scratchbox.xyz. Contact: hello@ridiculouscorp.com.
Mac app
The Mac app creates folders on your disk (~/Scratchbox/Inbox, Kept, Expired) and, if you turn it on, points macOS screenshots at Inbox. Watch Downloads only moves new finished files from ~/Downloads into Inbox. Files stay on your Mac. The app does not create an account, does not phone home, and does not upload file contents.
To capture from the menu bar it asks macOS for Screen Recording (stills and video), Microphone if you add voice to a recording, and Accessibility only when you capture an entire page so it can scroll that window. Those permissions stay on the Mac. Nothing captured is uploaded.
This website
scratchbox.xyz is a static site hosted on Vercel. It uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: cookieless page views and performance, not names, emails, or file contents. The host may also process ordinary server logs (IP address, user agent, URL) to serve the pages. We do not use those to identify you. There is no account system on the site.
